Early voting is underway in Ravalli County, as in the rest of Montana.

Ravalli County Clerk and Record Regina Plettenberg said registration to vote in the November election was happening at a brisk pace this week, too.

She said the absentee voting polling place is on the first floor of the Ravalli County Administration building on South 4th in Hamilton. It is across the hall from the MSU Extension Service and on the same floor as the vehicle registrar.

Plettenberg said about 11,000 absentee ballots will be mailed Friday, October 14. That is the highest number that have been mailed out in the history of Ravalli County elections. And that's not counting the other absentee requests from now until election day. The trend in the county is about 50 percent of the ballots will be cast before November 8, Election Day.

The reminder for absentee voters is to get your ballot into a ballot box before November 8. That can be done at the Clerk and Recorder's Office or the absentee polling place downstairs in the Administration building in Hamilton. On Election Day, absentee ballots can be taken to any of the polling places in the county.
