Vice President of the Bitterroot Historical Society David Bethman has collected all sorts of Americana and antiques with the goal of having a public auction of the items to raise money for the Ravalli County Museum. That auction is scheduled at the Hamilton museum Saturday, April 20, at noon. Sarah Monson of the museum said the eclectic collection includes everything from "B" movie posters to odd inventions and everything in-between. The items have filled at least three storage areas and come from all over the US. David and Julie have their own EBay businesses - The Bottle Vault and Bottles and Bygones. Monson assured everyone that none of the items come from the Ravalli County Museum collections.

Public viewing of the auction items will be Friday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday morning, April 20, from 9 a.m. to noon. Then, Rick Peverly of RLP Auction House in Stevensville will bang the gavel and the bidding will begin. He's donated his time to support the museum. Monson said the items include: Montana dairy items, 1800s glass art, framed crate labels, books, antique lamp shades, vintage china and jars, coins, furniture, old stock certificates, costumes, depresson glass, other Montana items and primitive wooden items.
