You could be part of the cast of the family classic, "Mary Poppins," this winter at the Hamilton Playhouse. The auditions for the musical will be Monday, December 16, and Tuesday, December 17, at 7 p.m. at the theater up on the west side of Hamilton. The Hamilton Players have roles available for at least nine men, 10 women and two children. There will be three parts of the auditions - music, choreography and directed activity. You don't need to bring any prepared music or monologues. The auditions at the playhouse are very user-friendly. You can look over a script at Chapter One Book Store. The show will be on stage for three weekends - February 14-16, February 21-23 and February 28-March 1. Bring your personal calendar to the auditions, so you can check rehearsal conflict schedules with the director.

Another Hamilton Players note for the holidays - a special Readers Theater presentation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," Saturday night, December 21, at 7 p.m. The theater group mixes the narration with some stage play for an entertaining evening. And it's FREE! There is a bake sale in the lobby with holiday-themed treats. You can even buy batches to take home. The funds support our community theater. Doors open at 6 p.m. and seating begins at 6:30 p.m.
