The Larry Creek trails of the Bass Creek Recreation Area will get some clean-up this weekend. Sunday, June 28th, the Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen (BRBCH) will be doing general maintenance and clean-up on the trails, which includes the fire ecology trail and the nature trail, including the wheelchair trail. The group will be gathering at 9 a.m. Tod McKay of the Bitterroot National Forest said the volunteer work crews and stock are providing welcome help again this summer.

The BRBCH will be at Calf Creek Saturday, June 27, for work on the trail's water bars and to get some obstacles off the trail. Again, members will be having a briefing at 9 a.m. at the Calf Creek trailhead. The local organization, established in 1976, annually contributes over 600 personal hours and 425 stock hours on trails to help ensure that hikers and stock users can access the backcountry and wilderness trails mainly in the Bitterroot National Forest and the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. Check their website for more information about the national network of back country horsemen. They have great photos on their Facebook page, too.
