The Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen (BBCH) organization is helping the Bitterroot National Forest on trails again this weekend.

From July 18 through July 22, the group will improve the Big Creek Trail #11 and the Bear Creek Trail #5, according to Tod McKay of the Bitterroot National Forest. He said the group will clear blown down trees and will clean water bars and ditches.

Friday and Saturday, the crews are camping at Big Creek Lake and Bryan Lake, working on the Big Creek Trail.

Then, Sunday and Monday, they'll head to Bear Creek Pass and trail. The public should watch out for crews and livestock on those trails.

The Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen is one of the first such chapters in the nation, over 30 years old. They contribute over 600 personal hours and 425 stock hours each year to help the national forests.
