Again this year, the Hamilton High School commons area was filled with boxes of food at the conclusion of the Bitterroot Kiwanis Christmas food drive.

A totally volunteer program that has been operating for four decades, the program provided boxes of food for over 260 families in the valley. The families signed up at Haven House food bank, Darby Bread Box food bank, Head Start, and Public Assistance. The contents of the boxes then were matched with the size of the families. The boxes were filled with major help from Hamilton High School's student Key Club Friday afternoon.

Many families picked up their boxes Saturday morning at Hamilton High School. Kiwanis members delivered to those who couldn't make the drive.

Dominic Farrenkopf of Kiwanis said that financial donations came from throughout the community, but also from the Rapp Family Foundation, the Greater Ravalli Foundation and area grocery stores.

KLYQ salutes the Bitterroot Kiwanis for another job well done!
