The Bitter Root Water Forum continues its River Clean Up this August, along with a "spread out" Run for the River 5K August 7 - August 9. There will not be a music and food festival August 8th, due to COVID-19 restrictions, but the Run for the River 5K will be conducted individually that weekend, with runners tracking their times with the Strava website. You can also use your preferred fitness tracking device to record your time and upload it to Strava or email katie@brwaterforum.org. More details, including course route, is on the website.

The water forum encourages Bitterroot River cleanup all year long with their free bigs available at access sites throughout the valley (see photo above). However, on August 8th, people can select portions of the river to clean, both on the banks and from floating. Then bring the trash to Anglers Roost, south of Hamilton, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. that day. Volunteers will be there to help unload the trash into the dumpster. If you see larger items in the river, check the "Report Trash" button on the main Clean Up page.
