Bitterroot Valley’s ‘Sprinkle Pink’ Campaign Wins Again
The goal changed for this year's Sprinkle Pink campaign in Ravalli County.
Instead of a focus on raising money, Amy James-Linton of Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital announced at the beginning of October that the goal was get more women to schedule their mammograms. The theme "Save Your Date" emphasized the importance of yearly mammograms.
The drive was successful. For instance, the Hamilton Downtown Association held a multi-store raffle that only allowed entrants who had scheduled a mammogram within the next year. They had over 500 entries. That result was celebrated at a fun gathering at Mikesell's Fine Jewelry last week.
Then, a end-of-month celebration at the hospital was held, where they totaled the fund-raising. An amazing amount of money was also raised during the month - over $20,000 that will be matched by Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital.
Fund-raising efforts were noted. They included but weren't limited to: Townhouse Inn, The Bitterroot Soroptimists, Hamilton High School, Valley Drug and Variety, Canyons Athletic Club, Wendy's bake sale, the "Turn and Burn" rodeo barrel race, Mikesells and the Hamilton Downtown Association. Also, a $5,000 check from "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" was presented by Darby Rodeo's Cal Ruark.
Congratulations, Bitterroot Valley!
