The first general symposium at the Bitterroot College drew a large crowd in the Common Area of the school in Hamilton.

Panels about water in the Bitterroot Valley included hydrology research, water quality studies, future development questions, and water rights. the sessions were moderated by Heather Barber, Executive Director of the Bitter Root Water Forum.

Victoria Clark, director of Bitterroot College UM, was pleased with the turnout and mentioned that the annual event will be known as the Patti Furniss Memorial Symposium. Furniss, Hamilton Job Service Director, passed away in 2014. She and her husband were part of the organizing group that got the community college established.
