The Blue Heron rookery at the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge has become a popular nesting site.

The Visitors Center has spotting scopes available for the public to view the nigh altitude nests at the refuge.

In this photo, we have counted at least four nests and a requisite number of "moms and dads." Lots of hatching is beginning to happen throughout the valley.
