The Hamilton Broncs and Lady Broncs are both going to the Class A Western Divisional Basketball Tournament in Butte, starting Thursday. In a night of Class A "play-in" ball games to fill out the divisional bracket, both Hamilton teams came out winners.

The Lady Broncs took to the floor at 6:30 p.m. at the Hamilton High gym against Stevensville's Lady Yellowjackets. Hamilton led throughout the contest, leading Stevensville 9 to 1 at the end of one quarter and ahead by seven points, 18 to 11 at the half. The third quarter saw Hamilton increase the lead by two points, with the score Hamilton 26 - Stevensville 17. The Lady Broncs never looked back and the final score was Hamilton Lady Broncs 37 Stevensville Lady Yellowjackets 21.

The Hamilton Broncs were over at Corvallis High School for a game against the Blue Devils. Corvallis had a slim lead at the end of one quarter, leading 9 to 7. However, at the half, following a cold-shooting 2nd quarter, Corvallis found themselves trailing by a score of 20 to 10. The game tightened up in the third quarter, with the score starting the fourth period Hamilton 24 and Corvallis 18. Hamilton outscored Corvallis in the final quarter and at the buzzer it was Hamilton 40 Corvallis 28.

Both Hamilton teams will be playing Thursday afternoon, February 25, in the opening day of the three-day Western Divisional, hosted by Butte Central. KLYQ will try to carry as many of the Hamilton games as possible during this weekend. The games will be on 1240 AM Radio, online at www.klyq.com and on the free KLYQ cellphone app.
