Camas Blooms Around Western Montana
Every year, the normally green fields in parts of Montana turn blue when the camas blooms.
They grow in moist fields and the gentle color is beautiful. In the fall, the camas bulbs can be harvested for use in food. In fact, the camas was a diet staple in the early American history with Native Americans.
Lots of geographic places and towns have taken the Camas name. We just like looking at the fields.
