Friday evening, the music of the past will fill St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Hamilton when "Sound Counterpoint" performs.

Sound Counterpoint is comprised of Johnathan Oddie, Linda Melsted, Miyo Aoki and Curtis Foster - all accomplished classical musicians. The four member group from Seattle will have a selection of chamber and baroque music for the audience. The performance May 22 will start at 7 p.m. and should last until about 8:30 p.m., according to the sponsoring group, Bitterroot Baroque. Admission is $20 for adults and $5 for students.

Saturday, May 23, they will be holding a daylong workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information about that event, contact Bitterroot Baroque. The newly formed valley group was created to present professional concerts and also teach baroque and classical music on period instruments.

Baroque music includes such music as the Bach Goldberg Variations, Pachelbel's Canon, and The Four Seasons by Vivaldi.
