Corvallis Apartment Fire Indicates Arson
Investigators have initially determined that the Corvallis apartment house fire Monday morning was arson and the investigation now becomes a homicide case with the death of three adults. Ravalli County Sheriff/Coroner Steve Holton said sheriff's officers and fire investigators examined the scene on Main Street in Corvallis throughout the day Monday, July 6, finding that the origin of the blaze strongly suggests arson. The three victims were in an upstairs apartment. Their names will not be released until families are notified, Holton said. One other female had jumped from a second floor window and was taken to a hospital with severe burn injuries.
Holton said that the public can help the investigation with any surveillance or security cameras in the area or if anyone noticed any activities early Monday morning when the fire started in the two-story building at about 2 a.m. Detective Lieutenant Jacob Auch is compiling any information at (406) 363-3033.
