For the fifth time in a row, the Corvallis High School girls track team is the Montana State Class A Champion. The team racked up 102 points, far ahead of second place Columbia Falls with 68 and valley rival Hamilton with 59. Stevensville was farther back with 15 points.
Joining the girls with their own state championship trophy was the Corvallis boys track team, edging out a team victory over Whitefish 74 to 70. In fifth place was another valley team, Stevensville, with 31 points and farther back was Hamilton with 24.

Elsewhere on the final weekend of high school spring sports, The Darby girls track team took third place in the State Class C competition, behind first place West Yellowstone and second place Seeley-Swan. The Darby Boys finished in 8th place. Winning the boys trophy was Ennis.

State A softball saw Frenchtown repeat as state champions, defeating Belgrade 11 to 1. Hamilton took fourth, as Polson squeaked by them by a score of 8-7.
