The COVID-19 pandemic has caused changes in operations at almost all government offices in Montana, including in the Bitterroot Valley. some of the changes are listed below. We'll provide other updates as we get them.
The office is closed to walk-in traffic, but continues operation.Marriage Licenses will be issued "By Appointment Only" which includes strict office rules. Call 375-6710 for an appointment.They are suspending Passport Issuance until further notice.All attorney filings will be by email or fax. No runners.Certified copies may be requested via email or mailed to you.Pro Se filings will be accepted via US Mail. Filings will be processed when fees or a notarized Affidavit of Indigence are submitted.An area is designated by the front door for filings submitted in person. After processing, a conformed copy will be emailed to the filer. Your email address or a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope must be included in your submission.All Child support, court fines/fees and other payments shall be paid by debit/credit card, a cashier's check or money order. No Cash Payments!Neither Parties nor Counsel will be allowed to congregate in the office while waiting for court orders after Law & Motion sessions. Those documents shall be emailed or mailed.
