Along with Daylight Saving Time (March 13), a pretty good sign of an approaching spring are the little crocus flowers popping up around the Hamilton area.

The little guys are relatives of the lily and there's a lot of variation in the family "tree," so to speak.

Whatever variety this might be, it's nice to see the colors coming back after winter.

Oh, the plural of crocus can be crocuses or croci. CROCI, by the way, means "Cash Return On Capital Investment," according to the Investopedia folks. That business term actually fits the plant - if you plant the crocus in the fall, it returns with great colors in the spring.
