Sunday, Senator Steve Daines honored bluegrass musicians Mike and Tari Conroy of Darby as "Montanans of the Week." Throughout the year, Sen. Daines highlights a Montanan with a statement of recognition in the official Congressional Record. This week, the Conroys were named for their 11 years of hosting the Hardtimes Bluegrass Festival, south of Hamilton, and their continual contributions to bluegrass music in the Northwest. Daines noted their mastery of banjo, guitar and other traditional instruments and that Mike is the President of the Montana Bluegrass Association.

Daines said, "Through their work as bluegrass musicians, the Conroys have brought delight to the hearts of their Montanan listeners. I applaud Mike and Tari Conroy for their work promoting and spreading the joy of bluegrass music across the state of Montana." The next Hardtimes Bluegrass Festival is the weekend of July 26th at the same location -just off Highway 93 on the northern end of the Como Curve, south of Hamilton. Look for the signs and listen for the music!
