Halloween was Thursday and Holiday Craft Show season started in the Bitterroot Valley Friday. The annual juried Holly Jolly Craft Show runs for three days - November 1 to November 3 at the Daly Mansion in Hamilton. Admission is $3 and the three stories of the building are crowded with 30 different artisans and vendors. This show runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and 10 to 4 on Saturday and Sunday. The mansion volunteers are selling lunch in the mansion's kitchen, too. It is the first major craft show for the Christmas season. But it's not alone. On the north end of the valley, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Florence/Carlton Community Chuch has their annual Bazaar. It's been an annual affair since 1960 and includes lunch of soup, sandwiches, pie and more. A bake sale and handmade items are featured, along with a silent auction.

Another fascinating tour is this weekend. "Artists Along the Bitterroot" has the "Artist Studio Tour," where the public can visit the studios of 15 different local artists and see how they create everything from sculptures to silk painting, wood carving to pastels and watercolor. See the map at their website and travel to the studios betweeen 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
