The 2011 Hard Times Bluegrass Festival will celebrate its third annual gathering this weekend.
The talented duo of Mike and Tari Conroy of Conner organize the three-day music festival at a clearing in the woods about 10 miles south of Hamilton. The relaxed, family atmosphere is punctuated by some great bluegrass music from the area.
The fun starts Friday afternoon With Ted Heiland, Ramona and Rachel Potter and Mary and Ben Thomas at about 5:30. The valley group Blue to the Bone then takes the stage, followed by Pinegrass, Will Williams, New South Fork and Gravely Mountain.
Saturday, Kids in Bluegrass, Spring Thaw, the Darby Sireens, the Country Step Cloggers, JD Web and the Downstate Ramblers, Mike and Tari, The Callenders and the Friday groups will perform from 12 noon to 10 at night.
Sunday at 10am the Open Bluegrass Gospel Stage starts the day, followed by The Callenders, Mike and Tari Conroy, Spring Thaw and the final act JD Webb and Downstate Ramblers.
$10 is admission for the whole weekend and dry camping is available at $10, also. Bring your lawn chairs.
Mike and Tari have been featured with their music on KLYQ's Event Show the last two Fridays. A friendly, Montana-style music festival is guaranteed.
