Tomorrow, the Christmas season will get underway with special events throughout the area, including the Community Christmas Tree lighting in Hamilton at the corner of Main Street and 4th Street. It's called the "Holiday Stroll," featuring an old-fashioned Americana Christmas.

The south lawn of the Hamilton Post Office has been festooned with Christmas decorations, including a large Christmas tree. At 6 p.m. Friday evening, that tree and all the other lawn ornaments will be lit in an annual celebration.

The Montana A Capella Society will again be singing Carols and inviting the crowd to sing along as the lights come on. Soon thereafter, a jolly old elf in a red suit will arrive for the kids. Santa will take his place on his personal bench in front of the tree to listen to all the children.

The Hamilton Downtown Association also will have warming barrels, with wood fires, and free s'more packages with marshmallows families can roast over the flames. Many of Hamilton's stores will be open late on the special evening.

Saturday is Small Business Saturday, with horse-drawn trolley rides, starting from Main Street between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Hamilton will have a truly memorable celebration this weekend.
