There are more photos being snapped every day than ever in the history of humanity. And some of them could be winners!

If you've got a great photo that has drawn "Oh, wow!" comments from your friends (or from complete strangers), enter it in the 21st annual Ernst Peterson Photo Contest at the Ravalli County Museum. You could win a ribbon.

The photo must have been taken in Montana, or in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness or Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks. If you entered the picture in a previous Ravalli County Museum contest, it is ineligible for this one.

The photos must be 8 by 10 or 8 by 12 and single-matted on white with a 3 inch maximum width on the matting. NO FRAMES, PLEASE.

There are professional and amateur categories and divisions for color and black-and-white. Cetgories include scenic, people, animals, and a half dozen more, including a "manipulated" category if you've gotten creative with Photoshop. You can enter in multiple categories, too. There is a $3 entry fee per photo.

You need to read the rules, so:

Download the application at The Ravalli County Museum website or visit them at the corner of Bedford and South 3rd Streets in Hamilton.

The deadline is April 17 and then the photos will be displayed in the second floor main display room of the museum.
