Lolo Pass Visitor Center has a full day of snow activity demonstrations Sunday, January 26. The center, just over the pass on US 12 southwest of Missoula, is on Pacific Standard Time and will be having Family Snow Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (10 a.m. MST). Experts will be on hand to prepare you for winter camping and how to stay warm and how to set up camp. West Central Avalanche Center will be there to answer questions about avalanche danger. Bring your avalanche beacons.

There will be demonstrations on snowshoes and cross county skiing. Missoula Parks and Recreation folks will have snowshoes of all sizes to try on and see if you like the experience. If you bring your own cross country skis, Missoula Nordic Club will have mini ski lessons at 10, 11, 12 and 1 (PST).
And, you'll get see what a trail grooming machine looks like. The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest is sponsoring the day.
