A house near downtown Hamilton was burned as a practice session for Bitterroot Valley fire departments Saturday, November 10. The empty house was used for "non-fire" practice Thursday evening. Then, Saturday, departments from throughout Ravalli County sent fire personnel to the site on Marcus Street for suppression practice and "Mutual Assist" procedures as the house was burned to the ground.

The owners of the property have other plans for the site and agreed to let the firemen use the structure for valuable "real location" instruction. Lots of cars slowed to watch the planned destruction, which was a block from Hamilton's Main Street intersection with US 93. Fire trucks from almost every valley department were on hand.
