Cheri Ford has been named as the new Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest Supervisor. Regional Forester Leanne Marten made the announcement, "Her strong resource conservation background makes Cheri a wonderful addition to the forest and the communities in which she will be working and living." Ford is a University of Montana graduate in wildlife biology and forestry. She also has a Masters of Natural Resource Stewardship from Colorado State University.

Ford was most recently Deputy Forest Supervisor of the Salmon Challis National Forest. She has also worked on wildlife and soils programs on the Bitterroot and Lolo National Forests. Ford has been acting supervisor, replacing Melany Glossa, who was promoted to a Deputy Regional Forester position in the Forest Service's Eastern Region.
