Friday night in high school basketball, the Broncs defeated the Broncs and the Lady Broncs lost to the Lady Broncs. And it all happened at almost the same time. One game was in Frenchtown and the other was in Hamilton as the Broncs and Lady Broncs from both schools battled to close victories.

Hamilton girls lost to Frenchtown by one point in their game at the Hamilton High gym. Frenchtown had a five-point lead at the half 23 to 17, but Hamilton came back to within two, 30 to 28, at the end of the third quarter. It was a tight game from there on and Frenchtown pulled out the win 41 to 40.

Meanwhile in Frenchtown, the Hamilton boys had their battle going on and trailed by two points after one quarter, 11 to 9. They fell a bit farther behind and trailed by a score of 28 to 22 at the half. However, the second half brought the teams together to a tie at the end of regulation and they went into overtime. Frenchtown won the game by two points 49 to 47.
