The Hamilton Broncs defeated the Butte Central Maroons Saturday afternoon, January 26, to gain the top rung in the Southwestern Division of Class A high school basketball. The score at the buzzer was Hamilton 55 Butte Central 41.

The teams were fairly close in scoring during the first half of the game at Dale Berry Court in Hamilton, with the Broncs were in the lead at the half 29 to 22. They were six points ahead beginning the final quarter, 43 to 37, and increased their lead by the end of the game. The final score was the Broncs 55 the Maroons 41. Meanwhile in Butte, the Lady Broncs outscored Butte Central by a score of 52 to 43.
