The Hamilton Broncs improved their win-loss record with a convincing victory over Columbia Falls Saturday afternoon at the Hamilton gymnasium. The final score was Hamilton 60 Columbia Falls 34.

The Broncs went out to an early lead against the Wildcats and were leading by 12 points at the end of the first quarter 17 to 4. The Wildcats began a comeback in the second period and scored 15 points. However, the Broncs were also busy at the basket and the Halftime score was Hamilton 31 Columbia Falls 19.

The Broncs maintained their lead throughout the rest of the game and finished with the score of 60 to 34 in Class A High School basketball. The game was mostly foul-free and the fast action of both teams brought the game to close a little more than an hour after it started.

The Lady Broncs were in Columbia Falls and had their first loss of the season. They trailed 29 to 20 at the half and at the end of the game, it was Columbia Falls 48 Hamilton 37.

Hamilton Lady Broncs will play against Dillon Tuesday, January 26, in a game that was rescheduled from a week ago. The game will be at the Hamilton High gym, with freshman game at 3:30 p.m., JV at 5 p.m. and Varsity game at 6:30 p.m. KLYQ will carry that varsity game on 1240 AM Radio, and on the KLYQ cellphone app.

Both Broncs and Lady Broncs will go up against Butte Central Saturday at 4 p.m. The Broncs will be hosting the Maroons and Lady Broncs will travel to Butte.

The Hamilton Bronc wrestling team has a dual meet at Stevensville Thursday at 5 p.m. and will be at Butte Central Friday for matches at 5 p.m.

The Hamilton Speech and Debate team will be part of a "virtual" State Meet online this weekend, starting at 4 p.m. Friday and continuing all day Saturday.
