Hamilton Hospital Donates Thousands to Schools
The yearly sports physicals at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital are a "win-win" for Bitterroot Valley schools.
The Hamilton hospital schedules two evenings every fall for high school and middle school athletes to be checked by their staff of doctors. The cost is $25 for each student, and the money is donated back to that student's school.
How much money is that? In a morning ceremony earlier this month, the hospital handed out checks from this year's program worth a total of $7,400 to a dozen high schools and middle schools .
Over the years, the program has grown and the efficiency of the check-ups has made improvements, too. Officials told KLYQ that the program can always use more students for the yearly exams, which will bring even more money back to the schools athletic programs.
