The Hamilton Lady Broncs started their Western A Divisional Tournament with a victory against Whitefish Thursday afternoon. The final score was Hamilton 45 Whitefish 38.

The Lady Broncs started the game with strong scoring that continued through the contest. They led 12 to 8 at the end of first quarter. Whitefish kept coming back within four points a number of times during the basketball game, but at the end of each quarter, they still trailed behind Hamilton. At the half Hamilton had 27 points to the Lady Bulldogs 16, and at the end of three Hamilton led by four, 33 to 29. The final score was Hamilton 45 Whitefish 38.

The win takes the Lady Broncs into a Friday 7 p.m. matchup against the winner of the Thursday night game between Butte Central and Ronan. Also in the tournament this year are Dillon, Browning, Frenchtown and Columbia Falls. At the end of the weekend, four teams will advance to the State Tournament.
