Update- Saturday's Whitefish game against Lady Broncs was cancelled due to possible COVID-19 exposure.

The Hamilton Lady Broncs showed strength in their second win of the season Thursday evening at the Hamilton High School gym, with an easy victory over the Polson Lady Pirates. Hamilton scored 60 and Polson scored 25.

The Lady Broncs stepped out early and led 16 to 3 at the end of the first quarter. Hamilton continued its lead through the game, with a 39 to 12 lead at the half and an even larger lead at the end of three quarters, 52 to 18.

Polson was plagued by turnovers in the first half, but tightened up their play in the second half, however were unable to erase the Hamilton scoring lead. The final score was Hamilton 60 Polson 25.

Meanwhile, in Polson, the Hamilton Bronc boys lost a heartbreaker against the Pirates 30 to 29. It was the Hamilton team's second loss of the season and the second time they lost by a single point. They dropped their first game Tuesday evening against Ronan 40 to 39.

KLYQ will be broadcasting the Hamilton Lady Broncs again this Saturday, January 9 at about 4 p.m. when Whitefish comes to town. At the same time, the Hamilton boys will be at Whitefish for a game against the Bulldogs. We'll have scoring updates during the girls game. A reminder, if you're going to attend the game, there are COVID-19 restrictions on the size of the crowd and you are required to wear a mask. Those rules are for all Montana high school indoor athletic events, set by the Montana High School Association.
