In a re-match between Hamilton and Frenchtown, the boys and girls teams had one victory for each school - the Lady Broncs for Hamilton and the Broncs for Frenchtown.

Hamilton Broncs fell to a 4 and 5 win-loss record as they were outscored by Frenchtown 43 to 30 in a game in the Hamilton High School gym. Hamilton went out to an early lead and was ahead by one point at the end of the first period, 9 to 8. At the half, Frenchtown had retaken the lead by three points with a score of 19 to 16. But by the end of the game, the Frenchtown Broncs had racked up the points and won the game 43 to 30.

The Lady Broncs were in a true battle against Frenchtown in the Frenchtown gym at the same time. Frenchtown went out to an early lead and was 5 points ahead of the Hamilton team at half, 16 to 11. But the lead did not last, with the teams tied in the final minutes of the game, 32 to 32, then Hamilton went ahead 34 to 32. At the final buzzer, Hamilton had slipped by Frenchtown 40 to 37. Their record is now 5 and 4 on the season.

Both teams are hoping for another win Friday in the final regular season games against Butte Central, where the Class A Divisional Tournament will be next week. There will be a "play-in" game Monday evening, placing the final teams in the bracket that will make up the tournament that starts the next weekend, on the way to the State tournament in Great Falls in March.

KLYQ will carry the Hamilton-Butte Central girls game Friday, with updates from Butte, where the boys will be playing. The play-by-play is heard on 1240 AM KLYQ, at www.klyq.com and on the free KLYQ app on your cell device.
