Hamilton Mayor Dunked in Daly Mansion Fundraiser
Saturday, for about two hours, Hamilton Mayor Dominic Farrenkopf entered a cold water dunk tank ... many times. The mayor volunteered to raise money for the Daly Mansion, which has been hit by hard financial times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The dunking started a little before 10 a.m. and was streamed live on the Daly Mansion's Facebook page. People could throw balls (3 for $5) at the dunk tank target (photos above and below) either in person at the City Hall lawn or online with a donation. There was steady line of "pitchers" and there were many, many dunks as Dominic slid into the tank.
One of the on-line features was a $25 guaranteed dunk, where it was guaranteed that Farrenkopf would get wet. The fun ended at noon and the mansion took in over $400 in the short little fundraiser. By the way, The Daly Mansion is open for tours this summer Tuesday through Saturday each week, with three tours in the building per day. You need to make an appointment and prepay for the tour at (406) 363-6004 during business hours. When you take the tour, you'll need to wear a facemask, too. Don't forget, there's no charge to visit the 26-acres of mansion grounds Tuesday through Saturday. It always seems a little cooler under the trees in these summer days.
