Hamilton Public Schools to Close for Two Weeks
--Information as of 5 p.m. Sunday March 15--
UPDATED The Hamilton School District #3 will close for two weeks, along with the rest of the state of Montana. Governor Steve Bullock announced the closure late Sunday afternoon, due to recent COVID-19 presence in the state. Superintendent Tom Korst told KLYQ News that the Hamilton School Board will hold an emergency meeting at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening. To prevent any further danger to the community, he's asking the public to not attend the meeting, but the session will be streamed on "Facebook Live." He said comments via e-mail will be accepted before and during the meeting at firstname.lastname@example.org
Korst said teachers and staff are preparing for the long-term school closure. He said plans are being made to deliver school lunches and how to continue instruction during the two-week closure. More information is available at the district's website.
