The Hamilton public schools are conducting classes using Google Classroom while the classrooms are closed. This Thursday, March 26, Superintendent Tom Korst and the principals of the district schools will have another "Facebook Live" question-and-answer session concerning the distance learning classes. It will start at 5 p.m. and can be viewed at the HSD3 Facebook page. Following that at 6 p.m., also on Facebook Live, will be a special Hamilton School Board meeting in the district conference room to discuss the district's COVID-19 Plan. Hiring of the school nurse is also on the agenda. The public is asked to use "Facebook Live" instead of coming to the meeting because of the novel coronavirus threat. By the way, Tuesday's video on the school's Facebook page is from Principal Holland of Washington School. There's also a short "distance learning" session with Superintendent Korst. Get over to Facebook and Check 'em out.

Hamilton is scheduled to start up after spring break April 6. Meanwhile, Darby schools are not planning to start up again until April 14, according to their website. Statewide, schools have all been shuttered through at least Friday, March 27. The Montana school opening date could change, but the decision would come from the Governor's office. The University of Montana in Missoula is attempting to rely on distance learning online for many of its classes for the rest of the school year.
