Thursday night, the Basketball Battle of the Bitterroots between Hamilton and Stevensville was a double win for the Hamilton teams.

In Hamilton, the Lady Broncs and the Lady Yellowjackets were pretty evenly matched for much of the game. At the half, the two Class A teams were tied 20 to 20. After three periods, the Lady Broncs had edged ahead by 6 points, Hamilton 33-Stevensville 27. The Lady Broncs maintained that lead in the final quarter and increased their pointspread by the end with the final score, Hamilton 48 - Stevensville 35.

Over in the Stevensville gym, the Hamilton Broncs had a larger edge against the Yellowjackets as they went out ahead in the first quarter 15 to 4. The difference was 13 points at the half with the Broncs leading the 'Jackets 23 to 10. The Hamilton team kept ahead of Stevi for the rest of the game and finished with a 45 to 29 victory.

Saturday, the Class A basketball race tightens up when Hamilton meets Dillon. The Broncs will be in Hamilton and the Lady Broncs will be traveling to Beaverhead County. Both games will start about 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon. KLYQ will broadcast play-by-play of the Hamilton Broncs, with regular updates from the Lady Broncs' game.
