In an exciting set of games, the Hamilton Lady Broncs defeated Dillon at the Hamilton High School Gym Wednesday to win a "play-in" to the Western A Divisional series of games this weekend. The Lady Broncs had met Dillon twice before during the season and each time the sets went five games. Hamilton's KLYQ Radio carried the live play-by-play in a special spur-of-the-moment broadcast.

The November 4th matches started with Dillon taking the first battle 25 to 21. Hamilton won the second contest with a 25 to 23 score and racked up another win in the next game 25 to 20. Dillon came back in game four with a 25 to 19 win, setting up the final 15-point game, where Hamilton came out on top 15 to 10. That takes Dillon out of the tournament and Hamilton will travel Thursday evening to either Columbia Falls or Polson. That matchup will be determined by the Wednesday evening play between Stevensville and Butte Central, which was not complete as we wrote this story. All three valley teams are in the Divisional play this weekend, with Corvallis playing Ronan Thursday. Meanwhile Frenchtown meets Whitefish.

Only four western teams will advance from the weekend battles into the State Class A Volleyball tournament November 12-14, which has been moved to Sydney, according to Montana High School Association (MHSA) officials.

Meanwhile, the Hamilton Bronc football team will be in Semi-final State Class A action this Saturday against the Laurel Locomotives at the Hamilton High School stadium. That game will be at 12 noon November 7th. No general admission tickets will be sold, due to MHSA COVID-19 rules, and admission will allowed per coaches, players and cheerleaders. KLYQ will be broadcasting the live play-by-play at 1240 AM Radio, online at www.klyq.com and on the free KLYQ cellphone app.
