While she was director of the Ravalli County Museum, Helen Ann Bibler decided to start a farmers market on the streets next to the building to increase the Saturday attendance at the museum.

Rod Daniel was one of the first vendors in those early days in 1992. He helped set up the 25th anniversary celebration of the market August 13. And Helen and her husband Jim Parker were there to enjoy the vitality of the Hamilton Farmers Market.

The music was provided by the Bitterroot band, Blue Melon, and the weekly market was again crowded with vendors, tourists and Hamilton residents who look at the Saturday morning event as a weekend social ritual. There were free cupcakes and juice, too!

Thank you, Helen and Jim, for bringing another tradition to Hamilton!
