The Laurel Locomotives edged out a win over the Hamilton Broncs in the Saturday Class A State Semi-final game November 7. The final score was Laurel 28 - Hamilton 21. The game was a hard-fought defensive battle at the Hamilton High School Stadium, but it ended the Hamilton Bronc football season with the team's first loss.

In the first period, Laurel stepped out with the first score, but it was the only the goal line action that quarter. Leading 7 to 0, Laurel scored again in the second quarter, then the Broncs came back with 7 points of their own, but the Locomotives brought in another score to end the half 21 to 7.

The defense squads took over in the third quarter. First, Hamilton intercepted Laurel and then a few plays later, Laurel intercepted Hamilton, but no scoring change as the third period ended. The Broncs started out the final period with not one, but two, scores within 2 minutes and tied the game 21-21, with 10 minutes left. Three minutes later, the Locomotives steamed across the line for the final score of the game. The final was Laurel 28 Hamilton 21. Laurel continues into the championship match next Saturday.

Also this weekend was the final game for the 2020 Hamilton Lady Broncs volleyball team. They lost to Corvallis 3-0 Friday night. The highly rated Corvallis team continued in the Divisional playoffs.
