The US 93 road construction in the Victor area has caused lots of drivers to select alternate ways to go north and south in the valley. The "approved" detour is the East Side Highway.
The "back door" way has become Meridian Road, which runs parallel to US 93 from Hamilton through Victor.
Meridian Road is a county road and much of it is unpaved. Yet, that hasn't stopped folks with a "lead foot" from zooming down the road at speeds approaching 60 or 70 mph, according to residents.
So, effective immediately, the county commissoners have established speed limits and put up signs to slow drivers to 35 mph, and in some areas, 25 mph.
And, as you might expect, some patrolling can be expected. The East Side Highway is looking better and better as an alternative, isn't it?
