Missoula Man is Arrested for Felony DUI During a Severe Winter Storm
At around 6:45 Monday night, a University of Montana police officer requested assistance from the Missoula Police Department. According to Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh, officers responded near the intersection of Campus Drive and East Beckwith Avenue.
“When the officer arrived, the UMPD officer explained that he had initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in question and that while questioning the driver, he had detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage,” Welsh said. “He asked the Missoula police officer to assist with a DUI investigation.”
At this time, an "essential driving only" alert was in effect due to poor driving conditions. Welsh says officers continued their investigation.
“At the end of that inquiry, 31-year-old Cody Clark was in fact placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol,” Welsh said. “This was his fourth or subsequent offense, making this one a felony. They soon learned that Mr. Clark was also on probation. They contacted a probation officer who asked that Mr. Clark be held for a violation also.”
Clark was arrested for felony DUI and felony probation violation.
