Montana Makes Top Ten Worst States for Winter
From our guy KC of the Montana Outdoor Radio Show:
It happens every year, yet people always seem to be surprised. Im talking about winter. Every year, extreme cold visits our state, and yet people always seem to complain. Just as sure as you can bet you will crank your AC in July, you can bet you will see sub-zero temps in January. But, you can rest assured that all the "COVID refugees," that are packing up their U-Hauls to move here, are going to be in for a BIG surprise when they see what a Montana winter has to offer.
The website, Thrillist, ranked each state on how miserable the winters are. They ranked each state based on everything from weather patterns, average temperatures, and how effective and quickly each state's department of transportation clears highways, to interviews with locals and the historical success rates of their winter-season sports teams.
After crunching the data, Minnesota claimed the top spot for "most miserable." Followed by Michigan and Alaska. Montana makes the top 10, coming in at number 9, following Idaho.
According to Thrillist, the reason why is Montana makes the top 10
The Continental Divide can create distinct differences in sunlight, wind, precipitation, and temperature, depending on whether you’re in the eastern or western part of the state. Did you know that, either way, all the celebrities who thought it’d be “rustic” to own a ranch up there or whatever sure aren’t taking advantage of said property in January.
