Moody Blues Sell Out AARP Show in Boston
The Moody Blues sold out their appearance in Boston May 10, the final night of their spring tour.
The show at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center was part of the American Association of Retired Persons' (AARP) spring convention called "AARP's Life@50+," which has embraced "mature" rock stars for their twice-annual get-togethers. For instance, in their September gathering in San Diego, AARP has John Mellencamp, with guests Los Lobos and Mavis Staples, doing the concert honors.
Meanwhile, the Moody Blues have another tour scheduled this fall as they continue to pack 'em in. The three remaining members on tour are John Lodge, Graeme Edge and Justin Hayward. Of course, they have quite a few musicians joining them onstage for their orchestral sounds.
Justin Hayward is beginning his solo tour around the US Tuesday May 13 in Massachusetts, with stops near us in Montana at Portland and Seattle in June. It's called the "Spirits of the Western Sky" tour, after the name of his latest album. All the information is at his own website and also on the Moody Blues website.
