Need More Books for Winter Reading? No Problem!
Each year, the Friends of the Bitterroot Public Library has a fall book sale that raises money for Hamilton's library. Books are donated from the community and are sold during a weeklong event. However, the donations were overwhelming this past year.
So, in order to clear out the storage areas, the Friends organization is having a "Too Much of A Good Thing - Book Giveaway Extravaganza" to kick off "Love My Library Month." The title says it all. The books that will be displayed in the basement meeting room of the library on State Street will all be free. The sale will be two days only - Friday, February 2nd from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, February 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Vivian Yang, in a news release, said that all genres of non-fiction and fiction will be available, as well as VHS tapes (you remember those!). By the way, donations of books for both the giveaway and the annual sale are still being accepted. Don't leave them in the outdoor book return box, but bring them into the Circulation Desk on the main floor.
If you'd like to volunteer to help move the books out of storage into the meeting room, simply show up Thursday morning, February 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
