New License Plates Available in Montana
Montanans now have over 200 specialty license plates to choose from including a newly styled MSU Bobcat Club plate, a Biomimicry Institute plate and a CAN AM Lifeline Search and Rescue themed plate.
"Specialty plates like these give vehicle owners an opportunity to choose a plate based on the owner’s support of a particular organization or cause," said Motor Vehicle Division Administrator Brenda Nordlund. "Or they can simply just choose a plate because they like how it looks. Either way, specialty plates remain popular with Montanans and sponsoring organizations that earn donations from their sale."
Anastasia Burton from the Montana Department of Justice says that there is a $4,000 fee for organizations that would like to create new plates. Individuals that want to put the plates on their cars, will spend about $40 extra including a 10 dollar production fee and a 10 dollar administrative fee.
