At 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, the annual Ravalli County Fair Parade will begin its route from the west end of Hamilton's Main Street. The procession is almost always the largest Bitterroot Valley parade of the season. Everything from athletic teams to classic cars to costumed dogs are included. Entrants need to make their way to the North 8th Street area of Hamilton by 9 a.m. Wednesday. The parade is organized by the Leadership Bitterroot class of the Bitterroot Chamber of Commerce, who get the entrants lined up and judged before the the 10 a.m. start time. The winners of each category are announced as they pass the review stand in the middle of the 200 block of Main Street.

While the parade grabs all the public's attention Wednesday morning, the kiddie poultry show and the kiddie swine show will be going on at the fairgrounds. At noon, the Horse, Mule and Donkey Show will start at the Main Arena. Meanwhile, Karen Quest will be on stage with Cowgirl Tricks at the KLYQ Entertainment stage in the commercial booth area behind the grandstands. Billy Angus will follow Karen at 1 p.m. and the Five Valley Accordions will play at 2 p.m. Karen's back at 3 p.m. and the Ravalli County Fair Poetry Winners will read their poems at 4 p.m. At 5 p.m. the ever-popular Pie, Cake and Cookie Auction of award-winning baked goods will finish up a busy day at the entertainment stage. Thursday at 1 p.m. the KLYQ stage has a brand new feature - Steve Weber presents "Live Your Life with Gumption," with the lessons from Forrest Gump himself. Don't miss it!
