Each year, the Ravalli County Fair Board selects a Bitterroot family that has made a difference in the yearly event. That family is invited to ride in the Fair Parade and their name is on a plaque in the Fair Office. Fairgrounds Manager Melissa Saville thought it was a good idea to give them more notoriety. At the front gate of the Hamilton fairgrounds is an area of brick-sized pavers, where the public can have a name engraved for a $100 donation. Saville said an anonymous donation made it possible to engrave 10 pavers with the Fair Family names. Those pavers were presented to family representatives Tuesday afternoon, May 14. They then placed them among the other pavers.

The honorees included this year's Ravalli County Fair Family, the Seversons. Dan Severson and his grand-daughter Hudson Jo placed their paver. (see photo below) The Fair Families so far are: the Trexlers, the Rennakers, the Tintzmans, the Lewises, the Meyers, the Sperrys, the Nicholsons, the Leeses and the Koenens. The Fair Board thanks the families for their support. This year's fair is the last weekend in August.
