The Ravalli County Fairground's new handicap ramp and platform at the rodeo arena grandstands neared completion this week. A crew from Sorum Construction was busy connecting the metal sections at the south grandstands to provide a better view of arena events for people who are mobility challenged, such as those in wheelchairs.

Fair Manager Melissa Saville said the cost of construction was covered by proceeds from the 2018 Rockin' RC Rodeo Cowboy Ball and the Ravalli County Fairgrounds Capital Improvement fund. She said the design was from the Bitterroot Valley, too - Adam Reed of 3D Planning and Design out of Florence. The project is another addition to the continuing preparations for this September's Ravalli County Fair, which is still scheduled for September 2-5 in Hamilton. The theme this year is "Blue Jeans and Rodeo Scenes." Details are available at the fair's website.
