The "Photograph Montana" awards have been picked by the judges and Thursday evening the winning photographers will be announced.

The March 3rd award ceremony will start at 6 p.m. in the second floor Main Exhibit hall. It's also the weekly "late opening" evening for the museum with the doors open until 8 p.m. You'll have a chance to meet the photographers and share tips on how to take the next great shot. And there will be light refreshments.

Also on display are some new enlargements of some of famed photographer Ernst Peterson. The scenes selected this year center around winter activities and include some of his color photos.

The Ravalli County Museum is the repository for Peterson’s photograph collection and archives, which includes 22,000 prints, slides, negatives and positives. Each year, the public is invited to enter the Ernst Peterson Photograph Montana Contest, which began as a way to raise funds to preserve and digitize this important historical collection.

The exhibit closes April 14th.
