Don't fall off the cliff, forgetting about the deadline for "Photograph Montana" contest at the Ravalli County Museum.

The categories are open for young and old, amateur and professional and is mainly for photos taken in Montana, the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness or Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks.

This year, another category has opened called "Beyond Montana," allowing any type of photo from around the world and can be any subject, black and white, color or manipulated.

The deadline is Saturday, January 30. Entry fee is $2 for students and $4 for adults. The photos will go on display in February and will be on display through the middle of April. Award ceremony will be March 3 at 6 p.m.

The contest celebrates the late Ernst Peterson, whose Montana and Bitterroot Valley photos appeared in many national publications in the 1950s and 1960s. A special "winter activity" display of his photos will open February 11.
